1. Overrule

1) providing a decision on a case that is in opposition to previous decisions 2) reject an opposition in a court proceeding 3) to nullify or make void

2. Out-of-court Settlement

An agreement between two litigants to settle a matter privately before the court has rendered its decision.

3. Ordinance

An executive decision of a government which has no been subjected to a legislative assembly.

In court, it is a formal written direction given by a member of the judiciary.

the summary submitted by a lawyer in front of the court explaining why they should win the decision

6. Opening Statement

A lawyer's initial remarks at trial. Generally, it is directed at the judge or jury to set out the theory behind their case.
